Woodbank White v Unsworth Juniors
6 7
Today’s game sees Unsworth travel to take on Woodbank. Woodbank took a very early lead by scoring in the first couple of minutes. Unsworth fought back with Leon shooting just wide and then hitting the post and then Marcel also shot wide. Woodbank started to fight back forcing a great save from Alex. Shortly after Woodbank took the score line to 3-0. This is when Unsworth turned it up a gear and started playing to their potential. Haider made a great run down the wing and fired the ball past the keeper to make it 3-1. Haider then followed up with a shot from the edge of the box to make it 3-2. After Connors shot hit the post it came once again to Haider who slotted home to get his hat trick and make it 3-3 at half time.
The excitement continued early in the second half as Woodbank once again took the lead, but a great long shot from Leon once again evened up the score line. Shortly after Woodbank once again took the lead to make it 5-4. Leon played a 1-2 with Haider and scored to get his second. After some good work by Marcel he passed to Leon who scored to get his hat trick. Woodbank again scored to make it 6-6. To make a thrilling end to the game Leon scored a tap in to make it 7-6. In added time when the game seemed to be over, the referee gave a penalty for Woodbank, this turned out to be the last kick of the game so it was all on the line, and Alex made an excellent save under pressure to secure all 3 point for Unsworth.
