Unsworth had a full squad to pick from having Lucas and Jack H back from their holidays. Unsworth started off well moving the ball around and causing the Elton defence all sorts of problems. Aarons kicking was excellent today; it was only a matter of time for our 1st goal. Joe claiming number 1. The 2nd coming from a corner, a great delivery from Millen deflecting off Elton’s defender. Unsworth continued to play excellent football Lucas getting the 3rd. Jack AH with clearly football on his mind decided to take on 4 of the Elton team, twisting and turning like Johan Cruyff (Dave Brown’s nickname for Jack today). Elton gained a consolation goal on a rare attack. Aaron was brave but unlucky as the ball spilled past him. The 2nd half continued with the lads dominating the game. Everyone kept their shape and discipline well. The ball followed and more goals followed. Milled scored a further 2 goals and Lucas a further 2, one coming from a penalty. Ben finished the goal fest with a neat finish into the top corner of the net. Elton scored a late goal from an acute angle, a good finish. MOM: Jack AH. – A very pleasing performance, committed, a fabulous run and some great tackling. Well Done Jack. Unsworth Juniors V Elton Sports
I would like to thank all the lads for turning up on saturday morning looking revd up and ready to go, also a big thank you to paul for helping out and taking role of referee. kicking the match of at approx 10am.
Unsworth Juniors started off with a very strong trio in midfield pressing Elton which resulted in a first goal from Dylan in the first few seconds, just minutes later those fab midfielders harry, charlie and marselle helped the ball into Eltons half, giving blaze a fab run on goal, Elton feeling the pressure by blaze's pace had no option but to bring him down giving Unsworth Juniors a penalty which resulted in a storming goal from blaze. The boys confidence was growing fast although due to another quick goal from Dylan there was no time to celebrate, the game was fast up and running again.
Elton showed courage and played on not letting the 3 - 0 early lead affect them, they kept pushing on only to be met by our defence, those at the back Reece, Leon, Oliver and Alex Kinsler with some fantastic crunching tackles and long balls up the field, making it very hard for Elton to create any chances, even though a couple of chances did arise they couldn't seem to beat Alex our rock of a keeper, Well done Alex.
From there on in it was clear that the boys listened to both managers Chris and Abbey that morning before the match, with the team talk. the lads have 3 golden rules to play by 1) respect 2) pass 3) shoot, they obviously work, what a snowball effect it was Dylan gets his 2nd, then blaze, then both on to get hatricks and more, well done boys!
Then come a fantastic goal from Leon, who was praised by his team mates when stormed up the field from his defence position and yes he did it Leon back of the net.
Then come another from Blaze, the boys were on fire, when just then Elton's opportunity arose. Action man Alex was there once again but unfortunatly this time Elton managed to get one in.
The boys didn't lose heart but just streamed ahead, their passing skills and team effort resulted in many more goals to come. Due to Harry's constant effort and determination he got his well deserved debut goal, well done Harry.
Another two great goals from Charlie and some brilliant passes and chances at goal from Oliver. Well done Oliver. I would just like to thank Leon for his team spirit when the keeper got injured Leon stepped up and took his place, thanks leon.
We thank Elton for the oppurtunity and look forward to the return fixture and all the best for the season.
