Paul Morrison and Danny Jones's Under 15's Unsworth side were crowned champions yesterday after beating challenging rivals Monton 1-0.

Unsworth only needed a draw to be crowned champions of the Bury & Radcliffe League, and with Monton needing a win, a good game of football was in prospect.  In the first half Unsworth missed a hat-full of chances to go into half time 0-0.

After a much needed team talk at half time, the boys came out raring to go.  With nervous parents pacing, and pacing the line Unsworth finally took the lead with a fine taken goal from Sharn.  The game then got scrappy with the referee having to talk to several over heated Monton players.  As Monton pressed forward into the final minutes it was only great defending from Josiah, Sam, George and Mike, with fine saves from David that stopped Monton getting the equaliser.
