We played host to Prestwich Town Blacks, 7 games left with 6 matches at home. We have been battling injuries all season and saturday was not different to the last few weeks. Another text and Dean has tonsillitus, oh no down to 10.
We had already regrouped as Ollie our keeper has been out for 3 weeks but now our reserve keeper Austin injured his back during last weeks game. Mike stepped up and put on the gloves, thanks Mike.
It was a lovely sunny morning and Prestwich had a full squad and plenty of subs.
The boys all dug in and we started really well, we didn't even look like we were a man down.
We pressed down the wings and the sheer determination of Brad rewarded him with a goal, 1-nil.
Their right winger was a handful for Harry but Calum was their to back him up and they worked well together.
Kieran commanded the back line with Luke to the left of him.
Sam our captain was inspirational in the middle and Aaron worked really hard picking up the ball in midfield and moving it forward. James was showing great movement and he slotted in well with Brad.
It was with all the hard work that James received the ball on the edge of the box took a shot and boom, 2 nil. well done James great goal.
Prestwich applied some pressure and was rewarded, 2-1.
Some great play in midfield and Aaron moved the ball forward for Brad to find the back of the net for the second time, 3-1.
Just before half time and we were applying loads of pressure, Jacob was making a nuisance of himself on the right and Brad was after his hat trick but their keeper made some really good saves.
The second half and Prestwich pressed hard they started to test Mike in goal and he was tremendous and pulled off some unbelievable saves.
Harry closed down their right winger and passed to Aaron in the middle, then Aaron, Luke, James and Brad played some fantastic passes all to feet moving forward and was rewarded with our fourth goal and another hat trick for Brad. Absolutely fantastic that for me was a quality team goal. Prestwich scored 2 more and the last ten minutes were very hairy. They tested our defence to the fullest, but credit to our back four who had dug deep all game and we were rewarded with a great win 4-3.
