We'd not played Middleton this season and it was a road trip to their grounds.
Unfortunately we got lost, their pitch is in the middle of a housing estate in Cheetham Hill and without a postcode was not a good idea.
We had a starting eleven and super sub Mike on the bench, not fully fit but available if we really needed him.
The referee didn't turn up, Lee and I decided our Coaches Sean and Chris would referee between them, not ideal but necessary.
Middleton started out strong, the ground was very hard and the Middleton players were taking advantage of the bounce. Within twenty minutes we were two nil down and Middleton were looking comfortable.
Harry's knee gave way again and Mike had to slot into the right back position. We are plagued with injuries at the moment. We started to make a few passes, the Middleton defence were holding solid but after a few plays we managed to get the ball through to Brad who knocked into the back of the net 2-1. We pressed even more and their goalkeeper made a couple of good saves.
Half time and we were still 2-1 down, Sean told them to keep the ball on the ground and their was a technique in training which we were to implement into the game. Also our defence had to get right back as their keeper could kick the ball end to end.
At the start of the second half it was very scrappy. Aaron was strong in midfield and was having a blinding game he got hit in the face and was later headbutted in the ear.
Aaron made a great play and he normally tries and run the ball in but he took the opportunity and great shot 2-2, game on.
We started to string together some good passes, Jacob was flying down the wing and their left back couldn't keep up. The ball found Brad's feet and he managed to slot one into the corner 3-2 to us.
Middleton had their chances but Austin stayed strong and was picking up any loose ball.
Mike went up for the corner and he managed to find Aaron who headed it into the back of the net, great goal Aaron's first header this season and that makes 20 for you, well done.
Middleton seem to lose their pace and they were fading it was hot though.
There was only a few minutes left the Middleton keeper had hold of the ball and was about to kick it, Sean was telling Kieran to get back, back, further back. Kieran was just in front of the box when the keeper kicked the ball out straight to Kieran he kicked it up and towards the goal when it bounced right in front of their keeper he jumped up to catch it but could only fingertip it right into the back of the net, boom. Great goal Kieran final score 5-2 to us.
