On Saturday, we were all wondering whether our quarter final cup game would be postponed again. Luckily it was a sunny day and the pitches at Drinkwater Park were in great shape as they had not been played on since 15th January.
It was an early start as the ref had tickets to the Manchester derby.
This was to be the 5th time we played Bury Amateurs this season and the results had all gone our way.
I have to say it was a cracking game both sides had shots on target, James our left winger hit the post 3 times. Jacob opened the scoring with a great goal from the right side. A big thanks to Luke who stepped into defence, with Austin injured and the loss of two key players, this season he's been playing up front and has been assisting or scoring loads of goals, thanks and well done.
There was lots of goals, sorry lads can't remember in what order, I did get over excited and ended up breaking my glasses. Well done to Bradley who secured another hat trick.
It finished 9-4 to Unsworth Dragons and the semi-final to be played next week at Redvales.
Scorers:
Bradley 3
Calum 2
Jacob 1
Aaron 1
Michael 1
James 1
Man of the Match: Luke
