Due to the cup fixtures our away match v Summerseat was cancelled. It was looking like a weeks rest was on the cards, when a call from the league said we could bring one of our fixtures forward. Bury Amateurs had no game and a quick call to see if they wanted to play and game on for the third week running. It was our home fixture and with the prem team also playing we kicked off late at 11.30am Sean was at a wedding so the team was left to Lee and me. The first ten minutes and not much happened then all of a sudden Azza and Joe started to command the midfield and the team came alive. In a blink of a eye and we were 2 up, some great play and Azza was really turning on the moves. A quick change and Super Sub Calum came on for Michael. The goals started to come thick and fast and by half-time we were 6 up. Lee motivated the boys with a great team talk and a change in the team to get all the subs on. In the second half Bradley's first touch and it just went over the cross bar. Then Aaron's first touch of the second half straight into the back of the net to make it 7. Bury had to kick off, they kicked the ball back and one of their players just booted it towards the goals, Ollie get back on your line straight over his head and into the back of the net. It didn't count. We pressed some more and 3 more goals and Calum getting his fifth of the day. Ref how long left? He signalled 1 min we were 10 nil up and a clean sheet was on the cards. Well, hold that thought, last kick of the day and Bury player just blasted it at goal and they scored, good goal. As Ollie picked up the ball, the ref blew, final score 10 - 1 and another great result, well done. Scorers: Calum 5 Aaron 2 James 1 Luke 1 Michael 1 |
