It was a beautiful sunny day at Hillock Playing Fields. All the pitches were being played and the atmosphere was buzzing. Unsworth Dragons kicked off at 11am against Bury Amateurs for the second week running. Was it going to be a tough game like last week, you ask? We spent the first 20 minutes in their half shot after shot either went wide, or over the bar and their keeper did some amazing saves. Then we got a corner, Michael stepped up and hit the ball into the penalty area and Auzzy controlled the ball and cracked it into the back of the net, great goal 1-nil Dragons. James got a knock on the knee and had to be substituted and Joe came on. There was a reshuffle in midfield and Jacob had the ball on the right passed to Michael who took a shot from a far distance and straight over the keepers head into the top right hand corner, 2-nil Unsworth. Bury came to life for a brief spell and got one back 2-1. Sam pulled up with an injury on his thigh and Harry came on as right back and played unbelieveable. We took the game back to them and scored a further 2 goals one from Luke and one from Aaron. After half-time Michael curled another one in and then their keeper fumbled and Aaron knocked it in to make it 6. Bury applied some pressure Oliver did an amazing save jumping from one side of the goal to the other and knocked it out for a corner. Harry did an amazing clearance off the line. Just right at the end Bury scored their second goal to make it 6-2 Dragons and that was the final score. Goal Scorers: Aaron 2 Austin 1 Luke 1 Michael 2 |
