Our first home league game, we played host to Oldham Rangers Blue aka Chadderton Grasshoppers Blue. A very experienced side that have been together for a few years.
After looking at last weeks results we knew we were in for a tough match.
The atmsophere was great, Hillock was buzzing with 10 games on.
Sean's team selection picked itself as we only had 13. We started off well and the play was pretty even until 10 minutes in penalty, no penalty, surely it was, well I thought it was but nothing was given. Five minutes later and we were 1-nil down and then a few minutes later the winger lobbed up the ball over our goalkeeper head 2-nil.
Oldham seemed up for a flurry of goals as they had won 9-nil last week and were hoping for a repeat performance.
Well sorry to disappoint and anything you can do so can Michael, he went speeding down the wing and curled the ball right round their goalkeeper, great goal, 2-1 game on. Oldham came back and scored a further 2 goals, half-time talk from Sean was really encouraging as we were playing well, we just needed to pass the ball more.
Calum pulled another back to make it 4-2 and then their goalkeeper kept making save after save, then we hit the crossbar or it went wide.
The result didn't go our way but our boys played fantastic.
