Saturday the 24th April sees Unsworth unders seal promotion to the B Division.
With John away Danny took charge of the lads knowing that just a point would seal promotion. Instead of a narrow win the lads have demolished Walshaw Park 7-0. After the victory in mid week that took the goal tally for the season to over 100 this win shows just how far the lads have come.
We are now on 46 points from 17 games. We have won 15, drawn 1 and lost 1. Goals scored is now an increadible 111 and conceaded 22. With 3 games left we still have a chance of winning the league but have to rely on Higher Blackley dropping a point. Here's hoping.
I would just like to saw a massive thanks you to everyone involved including Unsworth Football Club itself for our facilities, Colin our groundsman who also helps with the BBQ each Saturday with our club Secretary Helen, our team sponsor David Lomas of Lomas newsagents, Danny for his support and ideas, all our supporters including the parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters and finally to the lads themselves.
You have grown into a fine footballing unit, you have all learnt a lot and put up with my ranting and raving but you now have what you all deserve. Lets make sure we finish the season in stay and get ready for the B division
No training this week as midweek game at home versus Ramsbottom United. Meet 6.00pm for a 6.30 kick off.
Have a great weekend and WELL DONE!
