Just a quick report about the match on Thursday evening. Only having eight players and after seeing the size of the pitch (enormous ), i honestly thought we were in for a battering tonight. We kicked off with some early pressure applied by us, of which there manager did say their parents were concerned about the way we were attacking them. Not being able to make any of this count they scored their first with a cracking header off a corner and there was nothing we could do about it. They scored again and then we got a penalty which unfortunatley was hit over, much to the cheers of their parents, which made an eight year old feel great! After they got their third we did apply pressure again and did have about three chances, where if the right pass was made we could have made them count. But considering Alex was ill and didn`t play much and Daniel went off for a bit as he got a ball in the face, the lads did fantastic. Man of the match was Rowan as he ran his heart out and covered that pitch three times over. Big derby match next week 7th May that is one we have to win so i can gloat for a bit! |
