It was lovely to see all 12 of our lads turn up fit and raring to play on this cold, blustery day against Whitworth , especially as the last 2 matches have been called of due to bad weather.

It was hard going in the first half as we were playing into the wind and Whitworth were putting in some fantastic tackles. Joe took to his new role in attack well and together with Josh there were some good shots at goal but the Whitworth keeper managed to save everything that came his way, as did Daniel at the other end.

The breakthrough finally cam near the end of the 1^st half with Rowan scoring from a corner. Unfortunately Whitworth came back quickly and their number 6 scored by putting the ball over Daniels head.

There were a few changes in the second half and the half time Mars bars worked a treat, the lads were full of energy. Michel and Sam were fantastic in defence and Whitworth very rarely got the ball past them. The forwards never gave up and eventually Rowan worked his magic and scored 2 great goals quite quickly to get his hat trick.

Towards the end of the second half Whitworths number 6 scored with a fantastic strike making it quite a nail biting last few minutes. With only a minute or so to goal Whitworth had another shot but Cain got in there and saved it on the line meaning the game ended up 3-2 to us, giving us 100% record in 2008!

Man of the Match had to be Rowan and Morris deserves a mention as he got full marks (5/5) in his role as referee. “Magic our Morris!”
