Derby day at Unsworth today as the Hawks took on the Demons for our first clash of the season. The Demons took the initiave with an early lead. We equalised within a couple of minutes Thanks to Jack Lee (c). A great goal from just on the edge of the box. Shortly afterwards we scored an unfortunate own goal from an attempted clearance, Again it felt like a couple of minutes and Jack gave us all a de ja vu moment to bring it level at half time.

In all honesty we were awful in the first half apart from the 2 goals we scored, so a couple of tactical switches were required and we were ready for the 2nd half, Jack scored another 2 in the second to give us the victory and earn himself MOM which was thoroughly deserved.


Our defence worked hard today with Marcus and Sam taking centreback positions, Although I felt we really missed Jadons tough tackling in there today as he was sunning himself this week. Josh looked comfortable between the sticks and did the business when he could. Decs played in defence for the first and took right wing in the second, swapping with Stan Excellent in both halves for us today. Tom Strong and Morgan Champagnie unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with some good defending from the Demons. Low and Sam tried hard in there first game for us today and I am sure will get used to our style of play and get match fit.

Overall the 2nd half was a much better display from all the boys and we deserved the victory. Thanks to ALL our boys today for a great team performance and working very hard!

The Demons gave us a very good game and if they keep playing that way they will be fine, Good luck to Damien and the boys for the rest of the season!!
