After looking over our shoulders for a lot of the season, the final 9 games saw the Demons rise to 5th place (out of 12) in the Kay Division.
During these 9 games we managed to win 6, draw 2 and only lose 1 (to the winners of our division).
Recent wins have included 7-0 win against Marauders Kestrels, a 5-0 win against Prestwich Town & a 2-0 away victory at Littleborough.
All of these teams were previously established in the Kay Division & we’ve got to be happy with our progress after last year’s promotion.
Highlights have included goal of the season from Alex, like Giggs in ‘99, but without the hairy chest; HEADERS FROM OPEN PLAY by Jack & Morgan & an Irish jig type volley thing from Luke.
Leon has controlled the midfield, like Viera in his pomp, but with goals. Aidan has hit some form after injury & Thomas has found his feet.
A mention must go to the goalkeepers, Matthew & James, & the defence, particularly Luke & Ben, for the recent clean sheets.
It’s a team game & some of the play has been a joy to watch, but it wasn’t until the second half of the season that we got our rewards.
We look forward to the step up to 11-a-side next year?!
