After some prompting I thought I’d best post something…
Anyway, after last years championship winning season, & promotion to the Kay Division, the Demons have found this season a little more of a challenge, which is probably why I haven’t been posting.
Currently mid table, & determined to hold onto our place in the division, we’ve played some great football.
We have our good days & bad days & we never make it easy for ourselves. We’ve given the top teams a run for their money & then lost some games we shouldn’t, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
The other week against Oldham Rangers we almost did it again, taking a 3-0 lead, only to be pegged back to 3-2, which made for a worrying last few minutes. This time we managed to hold on for a win, but there have been times this season where we haven’t.
However, last week saw a thumping 7-0 win in a derby with Marauders, which pretty much guarantees our place in the Division next year & we could still get up to 4th spot if we put a run together.
We’ve got some great players in the team; Morgan dazzles & scores the goals, Jack sets them up: Leon controls the midfield; Ben & Luke work well together in defence; Alex “pit bull” adds bite & Aidan provides some craft; James & Matthew both do well in goal & could turn into top keepers; Thomas covers wherever he’s needed.
As we approach 11-a-side I hope they can kick on, as they are generally a good set of lads, have turned into a pretty good team & have made some good friends…
I’ll try to remember & post more often.
