First cup match of the season and it was a shame that one of the Unsworth teams had to leave the competition after being drawn against each other. We started well and had a few chances that were dealt with by the demons keeper. From then on though you really put what we have been doing in training into practice today, Harrison worked hard in midfield and linked up really well with a Tom Str pass to chip the ball over the keeper 1-0! Shortly afterwards H returned the favour by setting Tom Str in the same way for 2-0! Lex came on and scored a nice goal from 20 yards out 3-0! Half time came and went, we were given a free kick which to Lexis credit he could have taken a big shot at goal but No! unselfishly spotted an unmarked Declan in the box, fed this through to Decs who put away at an angle for 4-0! Shortly after this H was again provider by looking around for the pass on the edge of the area, H played Lexi through who put the ball away with a good shot 5-0. One lapse of concentration at the very end put Morgan through for the demons for a concellation goal 5-1. The Demons should not be down hearted they gave us a good game, had some chances and I am sure will do really well this season in the Kay league under Damiens Guidance. Apart from this our Goal keeping from Mark and Defence was excellent today with Marcus linking up well with Tom Sch then Lex, with Marcus getting MOM for his efforts, Marcus has settled in really well in the last 2 games well done. Jack gave his usual solid perfomance in Midfield and Lewis had a couple of really good oppurtunities to add to the score sheet. Kyle was also back from having his teeth out and tried hard to get on the scoresheet. We played well today and credit to all of you, we can play better though and will have to up our game next week against top of the league Middy Lads, BELIEVE! See you ALL at training on Wednsday night! |
