another great win
an away game against radcliffe boro aces would mean a short trip to close park for the lads from hillock and another tough test.this boro team came with the reputation of having a mean defence and the lads were determined to get another 3 points under there belts.straight from the kick off the lads had got into there stride and were playing some lovely attacking football which the opposition were struggling to cope with.several great chances created and missed from the boys and now camped in the boro half it wouldnt be long before the deadline would be broken and who else but "ronaldo" with one of his trademark heat seekers into the top bag which the keeper had no chance with. the boys were now full of confidence and were threatening to score a hat full, the introduction of "evil kneivel" just before half time would prove decisive as 2 minutes later a slide rule pass which cut the boro defence to shreds set up "messi" to run through on goal and smash the ball beyond the keeper and into the top corner.half time and a comfortable 2-0 lead. the second half would start pretty much the same as the first with unsworth in total control of the game, now creating a host of chances, unsworth just couldnt put the game to bed largely thanks to some great saves from the boro keeper and a crossbar which had took a real peppering, the introduction of the unsworth subs was relentless pressure for the boro with both "the rifle" and "turn on a sixpence" going very close to scoring, this gave the boro boys a bit of hope and would mount a last surge with "the kaiser" as composed as ever and sweeping up at the back.a late consolation goal for boro would make the final scoreline 2-1 to the unsworth. another very important three points and a very good team performance against a team who will cause teams a lot of problems, well done boys!!! man of the match- "turn on a sixpence" -outstanding |
