unsworth taught a lesson
after 48 games unbeaten the lads were confident of beating bottom of the table oldham rangers but the form guide was ripped apart on saturday as they tasted defeat for the first time in nearly 12 months. a sluggish start meant oldham were taking a grip on the game and the lads were struggling to get any rythem,a simple ball over the top of the unsworth defence allowed the striker to run free of the home defence and slot past callum to make it 1-0 to the visitors. the lads were creating a few chances of there own but some poor finishing from the boys allowed oldham to go into half time with a well deserved lead. the introduction of oscar and mitchell got the lads playing a little bit more and unsworth were now peppering the away goal with shots and it wasnt long before oscar gave the lads hope with a typical heat seaker into the back of the net to make it 1-1. the lads were now pushing for the win and only the heroics of the oldham keeper who had a great game saved the visitors from going further behind, but with minutes left on the clock the visitors hit unsworth on the break and a neat finish from the oldham striker gave the visitors a well deserved victory. hopefully the boys will have learned a valueble lesson that you cant take any opposition lightly, but a big well done to the lads for going so long unbeaten,a great acheivment!!. man of the match-hasnat "the kaiser" shabbaz , another outstanding performance from a player who gets better and better every week!! chin up lads, lets get back to winning ways next week. |
