first victory over an academy
an invite to blackburn rovers meant a first visit back to an academy since last seasons visit to man city, with valueble experienced gained after a few harsh lessons off the boys from platt lane the manager was feeling very confident that we could mix it with the big boys.four fifteen minute games and an eight a side game meant the lads getting plenty of playing time. game 1-the lads steaming out of the blocks left the blackburn boys shellshocked and with unsworths attacking football in full flow it wasnt long before it was 1-0 to unsworth with louis "messi" chortiw ghosting through there defence and firing a superbly taken goal, with spikey "twinkle toes" stansfield pulling the strings in the midfield the lads continued to dominate the game.but minutes later the home side pulled one back with a nicely worked goal, the boys were sparked back into life and were creating chance after chance with captain marvel mitchell holding up the ball expertly up front set up a lot of chances for the team, minutes remaining and a cross from the right set up riley "the rifle" smith to score a scissor kick volley into the roof of the net to give us a 2-1 victory. game 2-the lads now full of confidence and some great football being played the lads were to dominate every area of the pitch, the lads at the back looking determined to keep a clean sheet and the attackers firing it wasnt long before we took the lead through captain marvel who would go on to add a second, with spikey also on the scoresheet a 3-0 scoreline was what the lads deserved. game 3-a 3-0 defeat, nuff said on that one game 4-the lads were wounded at being beat and got to work on the blackburn lads, back to the samba football and the goals were flying in for us with "messi","ronaldo",spikey, and captain marvel grabbing one apiece, another great performance from the lads with every single player doing the business, well done boys!!! man of the day spikey "twinkle toes" stansfield |
