In the first night match of the season, Unsworth visited Manchester Road to play Starling Berserkers.  Colin was spoilt for choice with the amount of players who turned up - thanks lads for coming back from Uni to play, together with new signing Dean Higgins, a recent transfer from Premier Division's Prestwich CC FC.

On what was a difficult playing surface with the lack of rain to be had over the past weeks (I never thought I would be saying that!!!) it was Unsworth who took early advantage with a goal from midfield dynamo Mike Mellouish who after seeing his first effort blocked by the advancing keeper, headed in from close range.  Ten minutes later it was Mellouish who darted in unmarked to head in his second to make it 2-0.

Josh Kedie replaced Lewis Saunders 10 minutes into the second half and took no time at all to get on the score sheet with a darting run down the left, he then cut in on his right and hammered the ball into the far corner.  Great show of gymnastics followed, with a Lua Lua celebration.

Danny, twinkle toes, Smith scored one of the best individual goals of the season when he waltzed passed four players to smash the ball across the keeper and into the far corner.

The final goal of five came when Brad Higgins closed the keeper down after chasing him into the corner, the keepers clearance fell to Danny Mather 25 yards out, who lofted the ball into the empty net.

Starling Berserkers got a consolation goal for their efforts in the final minute of the game.
