Unsworth played host to Cheers Bar on Sunday 28th February.  Cheers scored the first goal in the first five minutes due to the ball not being cleared on three attempts, but credit to the lads, they came battling back into the game.  Ten minutes later, Mike Mellouish latched onto a loose ball to fire in his goal from the edge of the box.

Lee Bushell was on a 'going' day with great runs down the left and his persistence finally paid off with a great left drive to make the score 2-1.

Cheers came straight back with virtually the last kick of the first half with a great shot which gave Barton no chance into the top corner.

Half time  2-2

The second half started with Danny Smith pulling the strings in the centre of mid-field.  Unsworth were awarded a free kick.  Danny Smith saw his kick hit the wall only to find Danny Mather who smashed the ball through a crowd of players to see the it hit the net.  Back came Cheers Bar who beat the Unsworth defence to make it 3 a piece, and after dominating the game for long periods, Unsworth fell behind with 5 minutes to go.

In typical 'never say die' Unsworth threw the proverbial kitchen sink at Cheers, and Bushell was found at the edge of the box to calmly stroke the ball home to the far corner in what was a good entertaining game.
